Sample Courses

Courses for the Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies are cross-curricular, and often team taught by faculty from different disciplines.

Students will read, discuss, and research topics of contemporary global concern from the standpoint of more than one academic field.

To earn the MAIS, students must complete 36 credit hours of academic coursework, fulfilled as follows:

  • Two core interdisciplinary seminars at six credit hours each (12 hours).
  • Elective coursework (16 hours).
  • Proposal development and Capstone Project (8 hours).
