The history major at Hiram College cultivates critical thinking and interpretive analytical skills which prepare students for a wide variety of careers as well as for graduate study. Hiram College history students have gone on to become business leaders, lawyers, teachers and professors, political leaders, government workers, librarians, and leaders in non-profit organizations.
Recent alumni have continued their education at Carnegie Mellon, Case Western Reserve, George Washington, Clemson, Claremont School of Theology, The College of William and Mary, the University of Massachusetts, among others. Moreover, history majors are superbly prepared for active citizenship and for informed, thoughtful decision-making throughout their lives.
