For Family and Friends

The commencement ceremonies for the class of 2013 are scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 11, 2013.  We look forward to having you join us in recognizing the students' academic accomplishments.

Hiram College's commencement is a formal ceremony celebrating the past years' accomplishments and looking forward to new ventures.  It is during this ceremony that the undergraduates and graduates will each receive a diploma folder and have their degrees officially conferred. A punch and cookies reception is held immediately following the ceremony to honor the new graduates with faculty, family and friends.  For May graduates, the official diploma will be mailed to the graduate's mailing address as listed with the registrar's office upon final grade and degree processing within four to six weeks after commencement.

Many other celebratory events lead up to the Commencement ceremony including:

  • Celebration of Excellence programs that recognize and award achievements during the weeks leading up to commencement,
  • Professional Studies Undergraduate Senior Dinner a week before commencement,
  • Traditional Senior Celebration Activities which include seniors only events and culminate with the Senior Soiree Friday evening,
  • Nurses' Pinning Ceremony, Baccalaureate, and a Commencement Brunch Reception which all occur Saturday morning before commencement.

Complete schedules of these celebrations can be found through links on this website and are up-dated as details are finalized. Registration and Ticketing information is also included.
