Dove and ChalicePurpose: A Unitarian Universalist faith based group where club members learn about a multitude of diverse faiths, from Judaism and Christianity to paganism and Taoism. We also learn about Unitarian Universalism and its importance as a liberal faith. Interfaith CouncilThe Interfaith Council is a group of students who work with the chaplain to organize, plan and implement programming in the Fisher All Faith Chapel and Meeting House. The group designs procedures for scheduling and managing the interfaith program and works on issues of shared space. It is broadly representative of the several traditions that share the facility. The Council currently has no elected officers, and is convened by the chaplain. |
The NetPurpose: To provide a community for Christian students to learn more about their faith and develop strong healthy relationships with other students. Also provide all students of Hiram a place where they can come and learn about Christianity and its teachings. The Net is a Christian group at Hiram College affiliated with Campus Crusade for Christ which is well known around the country for their many Christian chapters at other colleges and universities. One goal of the Net is to bring students together to help them grow in and build their spiritual life while in college. The Net is also focused on helping those around us, whether through community service at the college or serving with local, regional and national organizations. The Net provides an inviting atmosphere that meets as a group every Thursday with music and guest speakers from the Hiram student body, faculty and fellow Pastors around the area. The Net provides an opportunity to learn more about God, meet new people and get involved every week while at Hiram College. Newman ClubPurpose: To provide an understanding and informative community of Hiram’s catholic population/ those interested in Catholicism. The Hiram College Newman Club is the Catholic organization on campus. Members attend meetings twice a month and different events are planned such as discussions, guest speakers, masses, and other fun activities. The Newman Club is open to people of all denominations. HillelPurpose: This organization acts as a common place for Jewish and non Jewish students to celebrate Jewish holidays, customs, and culture with one another. Hillel is a national organization with over 500 regional centers that is designed to provide opportunities for Jewish students and students interested in learning more about Judaism, to explore their Jewish identity through its global network, campus Foundations and Hillel student organizations. Hiram Islamic SocietyThe Hiram Islamic Society welcomes any one interested in Islam to its ranks. The Society organizes Friday prayers, occasional visits to area mosques and open discussion forums. |
