Future Goals

To promote a campus culture in which development of global perspective is an inherent and natural expectation of all students, building on existing programs and disciplines.

To enhance the visibility and distinctiveness of Hiram College.

To provide an academic base for all study abroad programs offered at Hiram College, and those developed within partnerships such as the International Student Exchange Program (ISEP).

To promote and sustain our existing exchange programs (Kansai Gaidai University, Boğaziçi University, and John Cabot University), and establish new relationships.

To restore traditional college student participation in Study Abroad to 50 percent.

To promote and support second language learning as an important part of developing a global perspective.

To foster links between the teaching of foreign languages and experiential learning here and abroad, including building relationships with foreign and domestic institutions for students who wish to undertake service while learning abroad, or in regions of this country where foreign languages are widely spoken.

To promote and support the International Studies Minor.

To promote and support communication and collaboration between existing programs and offices.

To promote and develop faculty collaborations for interdisciplinary courses with an international focus.

To support the development of a experiential learning voucher for all qualifying students, which could be applied to internships, study abroad, independent research and so on.

To provide a physical space where students, faculty, staff and visitors can go for all manner of globally-related activities.
